Hasegawa’s F-15D in 1:48 Scale with Rafael Missiles – by Ra’anan Weiss
Ra’anan chose to model an F-15D #706, “Northern Star” with various Rafael missiles.
The configuration consists of 2 Python 3, 2 Python 4 , a Popeye & a data pod, all made by Eagle Design, a 600 gallon fuel tank and 3 AIM-7 missiles.
For more detailing 2 ACES-II seats, also made by Eagle Designs were also added.
Ra’anans details modifications he added to the Popeye and data link pod for further accuracy.
Ra’anan finished his model with Humbrol 127, 128 & Alclad II paints.
Decals were taken from the super detailed Isradecal IAF-20 sheet.

Lightnings & Hawks in the Nature… - by Ofer Zidon
Ofer was given the opportunity of visiting various F-16 squadrons in An airbase in central Israel.
During his visit, he took photo of F-16A/B Hawk & F-16C/D Lightning aircraft inside their hardened shelter, during taxing, takeoffs & landings.
The photos show the various squadron markings, large IAF emblems and variations in colors & markings due to wear.

The Super-Myster & Sa’ar in IAF Service – by Ofer Zidon
In this article, Ofer reviews the history of this model in the IAF service.
In part 1, surveying the period of 1959 – 1970, the selection by the IAF and purchase process of the 40 aircraft is reviewed.
Also of note are data regarding problems with the aerial armament system, guns and the Nord 5103 A”A missile.
A large section of the article reviews the operational activity of air-to-air encounters with Egyptian and Syrian MIG-17s prior to the 1967 war, and combat missions during the 1967 war and the “War of Attrition”.
Part 2 of this article explains the evolution of the Sa’ar which show the installation of the A-4’s J-52 engine into the original airframe, with further hydraulics & avionics improvements.
This part reviews operations during the 1973 war.
The article contains many, previously unpublished photos of the Super-Mystere & Sa’ar in the IAF, as well as some photos of the Sa’ar in the Honduran air force..
Also of note are 4 pages of superb color profiles, made by Ra’anan Weiss..

F-16A/B Netz Moving Base – by Ofer Zidon
During the end of March, the Flying Wing squadron received its new aircraft, the F-16A/B “Netz”.
The quadroon had previously operated the A-4, which had been transferred to the Flying Tiger squadron.
In the event, a fly-by of tens of aircraft, flying in four ship formations, took place, ending in a long line along the runway.
