Today no less than 8  F-16 squadrons serve in the Egyptian AF all of them painted Grey air superiority  3 colour scheme : FS36375, 36270, 36231

Close Up on the F-4 Phantom, Part 1 (1969-74) in IAF Service - by Ofer Zidon    

The First F-4s (Called Kurnas in the IAF) entered in service with the IAF in 1969 and were immediately operated in the War of Attrition with Egypt serving as a multi role fighter-bomber. Later, in the October 1973 War , the Phantoms played a decisive role inflecting heavy damages on the Syrians and the Egyptians and shut down many enemy aircraft, although 13 F-4s were lost during that war. After the war the US continues to provide more Phantoms to Israel , till 1976. In All 204 F-4E & 12 RF-4E/S were supplied serving under the colours of 4 Squadron: “The Hammers”, “The One”, “The Bat” & “Orange Tail”. The Phantoms continued to take part in all the IAF operations and are still in use today. Part 2 of the F-4 story in the IAF will be published in our next magazine

As three Air forces: France, Great Britain & Israel participated in the 1956 Suez Campaign fighting Egypt, it was essential to share a common identification apart of the national roundels of each country. This problem was solve (As it was done in D-Day by the Allied) by introducing an identification band composed by 5 stripes: Yellow, black, yellow, black, yellow, which were painted on the three nations aircraft.

Hanukkah Annual Convention - by Ofer Zidon                       

This year Hanukkah Annual Convention & Model Competition was held in the main hangar of the IAF Museum in Hatzerim. Brig. General (Ret.) J. Turner, the Museum commander, concluded the IPMS Israel show by rewarding the winners in the model competition.
